The Goldendoodle gets its name from its mixed parentage, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. The puppies take on the best traits of both parent breeds. The wonderful traits include; loyal, intelligent, easily trained, eager to please, lovable and even tempered. As a hybrid cross the Goldendoodle usually grows to be healthier than either parent breed and display what is known as healthy hybrid vigor. The Goldendoodle is a very versatile dog and will adapt to any loving family environment...city or rural. Goldendoodles do require a moderate amount of exercise to keep them happy, healthy and content. Long walks, swimming and playing fetch are some perfect examples of activities that Goldendoodles love to participate in. Goldendoodle Generations and coat types are established by breeding Goldendoodle to Poodle or Goldendoodle to Goldendoodle. The Goldendoodle sizes are determined by the type of Poodle used...Toy, Miniature or Standard. Goldendoodles can come in three different coat types; curly, wavy or flat. The Goldendoodle coat is much softer fleece in texture than woolly like a poodle. The Goldendoodle coats are typically low to seemingly non shedding and are great for families with mild allergies. The F1b, F2b or F3 generations are the recommended choice for those who suffer with more moderate to sever allergies. Rule of thumb would be if you have allergies, you should pick a puppy with the waviest or curliest coat possible to ensure more Poodle genetics in the coat. The Goldendoodle coat requires regular brushing if you choose to keep your Goldendoodle natural (unclipped). This will keep the matting down and the coat in tip top shape. Goldendoodles can be clipped back 2-3 times a year if desired. The Goldendoodle is quite an amazing dog and has been bred for its impressive qualities. The friendly nature, ease of training make them the perfect Family companion dog! Goldendoodles with proper care and nutrition can live to be 15 yrs. or more. MEDIUM/STANDARD 45-55 lbs Average height from 16" to 20" Goldendoodles come in a wide range of colors and color patterns such as.....White, Cream, Golden, Apricot, Red, Carmel, Brown, Chocolate, Silver, Black, Merle, Brindle, Phantom and Parti. Goldendoodles can have Black, Rose or Liver points (nose, eye rims, paw pads) and eye colors of Dark and Light Brown, Hazel or even Blue. |
